All our services are provided by a fully trained and committed team:
- After successfully completing our recruitment process, our team of carers must complete an active training plan which includes a 4 day induction week covering all aspects of domiciliary care.
- This mandatory training is refreshed annually and where necessary our carers can avail of training in specialist areas such as dementia, palliative care, peg feeding and any client specific training needed.
- The extensive range of training and learning available for our staff is reflected in the high quality of care delivered.
Our Care Packages

When seeking your care package we:
- Select the staff best suited to your needs and personality,
- Provide you with the opportunity to meet with your carers, and
- Design a care plan tailored to your needs, allowing you to choose the times that suit you.
- Ensure all our associated costs meet the regulatory requirements so that all client groups receive a high quality service.
Self-directed support allowing users to choose their own care
Self Directed Support (SDS) offers you ‘choice, flexibility and control’ to take charge of your own care package. At Glen Caring our care packages are created with you at the centre, empowering you to choose the support you need, when you need it. You can access this service through self-directed support funds, direct payments and/or managed budgets.
The independence that comes with SDS gives you the opportunity to choose the times of your care calls, and to select the care tasks that are most important to you. We provide all aspects of care starting from 30-minute calls, and with a range of options to choose from including:
Care at Home packages, which offfer support with daily living tasks, such as:
- Household duties,
- Assistance with personal care
- Meal preparation and mealtime assistance
- Assistance with medication
- Toileting, stoma and catheter care
- Assistance with mobility and transfers
- Companionship
- Overnight care
Health & Wellbeing options, including:
- Attending the gym,
- Exercise classes,
- Yoga
- Walking
- Gardening
- Other hobbies, pastimes and wellbeing activities
Holistic and Cultural options, for example:
- Attending exhibitions
- Going to the library
- Visiting galleries
- Attending art classes
- Religious services.
- Other cultural activities
PRIVATE HOME CARE PACKAGES
At Glen Caring we offer private home care packages customised to meet the needs of any individual or family. Our care packages put you and your family at the centre, responding precisely to the level of support you require, and how you want it to be delivered. We offer transparent pricing and can adapt to your budget, while maintaining high quality care services. We provide all aspects of care starting from 30-minute visits. You can create your own care package from our list of services which include but are not limited to:

SPECIALIST CARE: DEMENTIA, PALLIATIVE AND END-OF-LIFE CARE
We have specialised trained carers in dementia and end of life palliative care. Our carers are invaluable in supporting you and your loved ones during the process providing you with the physical, social and holistic needs you require. This package is a very personalised service which will be carefully designed with clients and family, to ensure clients feel supported and comforted in their own home with the dignity and privacy they deserve.
Our Dementia Short Breaks package is a very unique service which enables informal care givers looking after those with dementia to take a break for the needs, while our carers take care of all your loved ones needs in the comfort of their own home. This service offers an orientation stage prior to the break allowing the carer, family and person with dementia to become familiar and develop that trusting relationship. This seals the confidence for family that their loved one is happy and content while they enjoy break from the challenges of caring for an individual with dementia.
RESPITE AND SITTING SERVICES
Our successful respite service is designed to allow service users to enjoy a caring and fun experience while also providing families with the support they need to take a much deserved break. The service includes a suitable minibus for the transport of service users offering day trips for example shopping, cinema, library, concerts – along with weekend breaks. Some of our successful weekend breaks included trips to Strangford-Bay-Lodge, Portstewart and Linsnaskea Share Centre.
Our sitting services and over night packages are designed to offer support and reassurance for you and your loved ones. This package allows for all aspects of care to be incorporated into your daily routine, again this longer provision package can be filled with any of the following tasks:
